Informational Meeting June 10th

There will be an meeting for all JH and HS wrestlers and parents on June 10th at 6pm in the HS Cafe. Information on summer camps and workouts will be given at this time. Please try and attend.

Preisch Wins Second Cumberland Valley Title

The Milton Wrestling Team opened the season this weekend at the Cumberland Valley Kickoff Classic. Milton's Ryan Preisch won by a major decision in the finals over Middletown's Steven Cain as Milton finished 10th as a team. Sophomore Brandon Stokes finished 4th at 195. Junior Zack Bennett finished 5th at 152 and Gage Heller finished 6th at 182. To see full results go to trackwrestling.com and search the Cumberland Valley Kickoff Classic.

Zack Bennett leads Milton's group of PWCA All-Academic Team Members

The Pennsylvania Coaches Association named their All-State Academic Team May 1st. There was a trio of Milton Wrestlers who were named to the teams. Sophomore Zack Bennett led the trio by being named to the PWCA's All-Academic 1st Team. Bennett finished his sophomore campaign with a 22-15 record and a GPA of 99.4. Milton State Champion Ryan Solomon was named to the second team. Solomon ended his first 3 and a half years of schooling with a 94.28 GPA. Also being named to the team was Ryan Preisch. He finished the season 3rd in the PIAA state tournament and also was named to the All-Academic third team. Presich currently boasts GPA of 93.38.
Ryan Solomon Named High School All-American First Team By Intermat

Milton senior standout was named to Intermat Wrestling First Team High School All-American today. Here is his excerpt from the article:
195 First Team: Ryan Solomon (Milton, Pa.), Senior
Solomon was an undefeated 40-0, including titles at the Beast of the East and Bethlehem Holiday Wrestling Classic, on the way to a second state title and fourth state placement during his senior season. He has amassed a record of 109-4 in his last three seasons, all of which have ended in a state finals appearance, and finished with a career record of 142-14. Solomon, who will be attending the University of Pittsburgh this fall, also earned double All-American honors each of the last three summers in Fargo: as a Cadet in 2010, and at the Junior level in 2011 and 2012 (includes a 2012 Greco-Roman national title).

Ryan Preisch Earns Fourth Place at FLO Nationals

Milton Area junior, Ryan Preisch recently earned fourth place at FLO Nationals earlier in April. He went 5-2 in the tournament, advancing to the semi-finals with a 3-2 decision over nationally ranked John Jay Chavez of Idaho. He then dropped a decision to 3 X state champion, JaVaughn Perkins, of Nebraska. Perkins is currently ranked #9 in the country. Preisch won his consi-semi match 7-0 over the Chad Pyke who owns the all-time high school wins record (308). He then wrestled Chavez for third and fell 3-2 decision finishing fourth at HS Nationals.
Ryan Solomon Earns Second GOLD

The Milton Wrestling Team finished 7th in the PIAA State Tournament this past March. The team advanced two wrestlers to the state tournament Ryan Preisch and Ryan Solomon. Preisch earned a bronze medal finish at 152lbs. defeating returning state runner-up Kyle Barnes of Hughesville 3-1 for third. Ryan Solomon captured his second gold medal and fourth state medal by defeating Chartiers Houston's Garrett Vulcano 7-0 in the finals. With that decision Ryan finished the entire post season tournament without giving up a single point! Solomon finished his high school career with 142 wins (Milton All-time Leader) and ranked number one in the nation by FLO Wrestling and Intermat.
